Friday Favorites #38

  Aug 10, 2018  |  #Favorites

Hi friends, happy Friday! It’s been a busy week! Today is my birthday and we are heading out of town for the weekend, though Ed is surprising me as to where. I will try to post updates on social media.

We had Camryn’s 4 month appointment (and shots), I met with some clients and did some mini projects, and we worked on Camryn’s nap schedule! She has been sleeping really good at night, but napping terribly. I guess I can’t complain, but when babies get overtired they get extremely cranky. So I’m trying to figure out how to prevent her from getting to that phase. We had some “better” naps, so I call that a win.

Here’s some of my favorites from the week! I hope you’ll chime in with some of yours below.

Watermelon Kombucha

This was my first time finding this in stores. It was refreshing!

Caramelized Bananas

How have I never done this before? It’s SO easy. I just put it on the stove in butter for a few minutes, and it softened up. They add SO much flavor to oatmeal. I’ll definitely be doing this again soon!

Frozen Dog Treats & Tater’s Bday

I bought these at the grocery store because Tater’s birthday is tomorrow – we celebrated it last night! I love that we’re one day apart. She loved them last year and I don’t know why I haven’t bought them since but I remembered to buy them now.

Born to Eat

I was gifted this book (affiliate link) from the National Peanut Board since I’m a Peanut Ambassador. It has been an amazing resource so far about how/when to introduce solids to babies, if you’re interested in letting them have a more hands-on, self-feeding approach.

I have started reading it since I am very interested in doing Baby Led Weaning when we introduce solids to Cam. She had her 4th month check up on Monday and we’re still probably a couple months out from introducing them. We may start around 6 months. She has started becoming very interested in our food (which is one of the “readiness” signs), but she can’t hold her head up all the way on her own (though she’s almost there)!

Great Harvest Bread Bar

This bar was amazing. It proved to be a helpful snack when I was out and about running errands. I will definitely be buying this again. I need to try to recreate it.

Intuitive Exercise

I’ve been really trying to listen to my body to figure out what kind of movement I’m craving by the day. I got a few runs in this week, this workout, and one day was just light weights and stretching. It feels nice to have no pressure as to what I “have to” or “should” do!

  1. Happy birthday!! Enjoy your surprise destination! Some of the highlights from my week are actually sticking to my goal of running in the morning before work and lots of afternoon time to hang out with Alex and Bailey.

  2. Happy birthday to miss Tater! And Happy Birthday to YOU!! So fun that you are *almost* birthday twins. Eeeee that’s love. A surprise getaway somewhere sounds like something out of a fairytale. Ed just keeps winning all the brownie points. Can’t wait to discover where you two end up and what else he has in store for you. Enjoy this day for you, my dear <3.

Caramelized bananas – yes. I put them on ice cream. You must.

  3. Good morning Sarah and happy birthday! Tater is so cute in that hat. I’ll admit, if I had an animal, I would give them clothes. We got wings for my old roommate’s cat and it was the best!
This past week I’ve read “Bad Stories” a book about America and the recent political drama (interesting) and now I’m reading “Braving the Wilderness” by Brene Brown which I’m enjoying very much. This books were real wins actually because they were “in between” books I just grabbed off the shelf as I wait for the books I ordered to come in.

Also go the new Saucony Kinvara white running shoes, which probably won’t stay white very long but I love them 😉

    1. It’s fun dressing animals up, and babies too! Lol I’ve heard great things about Braving the Wilderness, I hope you’re enjoying it! Nice to hear from you!!
