I had been here for a quick cocktail and was impressed by the menu but hadn’t tried the food. I was excited to come back here for dinner, for good reason!
We got there in time for the tail end of happy hour, to enjoy a $5 glass of wine and $1 off snacks. For snacks, I ordered the cauliflower fritters and the brisket slider with horseradish aioli and watercress. Both were good. I think the cauliflower fritters could have been crispier under the fried batter, but that’s my only complaint. (Lighting was dark; food tastes much better than it looks!)
I then ordered the kale salad with peanut dressing and golden raisins. This was pretty delicious and the peanut dressing added a unique twist to the dish. It was a good sized salad.
I also got to try the roasted root vegetables – a dish with farro, futabaga, carrot, celeriac, beets and parsnips. This was a beautifully colored dish and very tasteful. The Brussel sprouts were also very unique with bacon and mustard seed, a combination I haven’t tried before (not pictured).
The service was excellent and the manager was very visible throughout our meal, asking what else she could do or bring us. I was very impressed with the friendly atmosphere. It is a small space but very cozy! I would definitely return!
