Greek yogurt frosting quenches my need for refreshment. It’s cool, it’s creamy and it’s like it’s own cool whip, especially as frosting in this summer fruit pizza recipe.

This healthy fruit pizza recipe is great way to use fresh summer fruit and is absolutely delicious!

Plus, a breakfast fruit pizza makes for some great food to fuel the running, or replenish the run.

The almond flour crust is gluten-free and topped with fresh fruit and a chocolate peanut butter frosting, making for a delicious gluten free dessert pizza.

Gluten Free Fruit Pizza Ingredients

I’m so excited to share this light fruit pizza with you because it’s basically like a form of peanut butter pizza with chocolate greek yogurt frosting.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • oats
  • almond flour
  • maple syrup
  • egg
  • fruit (or toppings of choice) – I used blueberries, strawberries and kiwi
  • baking soda
  • vanilla extract

I like to use fresh in-season spring and summer fruit.

This is among my favorite fun 4th of July desserts for kids because of the patriotic colors.

In the fall, you could use apples, pears and squash. In the winter, pomegranates and oranges.

You could even pair with these baked oranges. So many options!

The star of this gluten free fruit pizza, in my opinion, is the 3 ingredient peanut butter frosting.

This fruit pizza oatmeal crust is very low in sugar, high in fiber, and high in protein, which makes for a winner all around.

Plus, it’s great for kids and very flexible – you can use whatever fruit you like or can find for the toppings.

I love including fruit in recipes. If you want a fruit salad recipe, you’ve got to try this mint cous cous salad

To make the greek yogurt peanut butter frosting, just combine chocolate peanut butter powder and greek yogurt.

Or, cocoa powder, peanut butter powder, and greek yogurt for the 3 ingredient peanut butter frosting.

How To Make Dessert Fruit Pizza

This almond flour crust took a few tries but I think I got it down to the right combination of chewy and crispy.

But, we figured it out and this dessert fruit pizza is perfect.

There are two different steps – first, making the crust. And then, the best peanut butter frosting.

1. Make The Almond Flour Pizza Crust

I’ll just go ahead and say that it’s not easy testing a gluten free fruit pizza with almond flour. But I’ve done all the tasty hard work of testing.

First, grab a hand mixer and mix your ingredients in a bowl for the almond flour pizza crust: oats through vanilla extract.

Then, you’ll form a ball and roll it out on a 12 inch pizza pan. Try not to make the crust too thin.

If it’s too thin, it will break easily and your healthy fruit pizza dessert or breakfast fruit pizza won’t hold all your favorite toppings.

The crust should mold rather easily. Then, pop it in the oven at 375 and bake for 10-12 minutes.

The gluten free almond flour pizza crust may harden quicker so keep an eye on it!

Then, once you let it cool, you’ll top it with the greek yogurt frosting, the fun part!

2. Make The Peanut Butter Chocolate Yogurt Frosting

You’ll just need two ingredients for this healthy peanut butter frosting, which is almost like a greek yogurt protein powder frosting:

  • chocolate peanut butter powder (I love this one). Or, instead, mix cocoa powder into your regular peanut powder.
  • greek yogurt

So easy, you can make this homemade peanut butter frosting on repeat over and over again.

For a gluten free dairy free fruit pizza, consider substituting the butter with coconut oil, and the greek yogurt with a soy or plant-based yogurt.

You could use it on anything, not just for this fruit pizza glaze. I love adding it to a sweetpotato oatmeal bake, berry waffles, pancakes, cinnamon maple granola, and more.

A Great Fruit Pizza For Kids

This gluten free fruit pizza is great for kids for so many reasons.

  • It offers antioxidants + multiple servings of fruit and fiber. More delicious kid friendly snacks here!
  • Packed with protein. Almond flour boasts 14 grams of protein in 1/4 cup!
  • Uses in-season fruit but can be great any time of year (use canned or frozen fruit, too) – great to choose from your garden, farmers market or seasonal produce section.
  • Your children can help you decorate it!
  • The greek yogurt frosting is also a filling snack. Kids don’t need to know the chocolate frosting made with greek yogurt is actually very nutrient-dense!

Fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, and seeds all make for great toppings on this healthy fruit pizza with greek yogurt.

And, this patriotic look for this healthy fruit pizza makes for a great 4th of July option!

Share this healthy fruit pizza with friends, save it for an after school snack, a snack after dinner, or even a post workout snack.

I love having a slice after dinner before bed because it satisfies my craving for something sweet. Plus, I’m getting carbs, fat, protein, and fiber all at once.

  1. I think I’ve made a mistake. My crust is super crumbly and won’t hold together. Maybe I was supposed to use cooked oats instead of dry?
